The treasure

A story I heard from my very first yoga teacher just yesterday and I apologize for not knowing the exact details...but the message is epic:

There goes the story of a King. He handed over his throne to his son in order to set out on a spiritual quest. He loaded a bag of precious jewels and gold and sought out wise teachers to give him the experienced bliss and if they succeeded he’d give them everything he had. After a dozen teachers showing him ways of breathing, balancing is body, trying various herbs, among the many helpful and beneficial techniques...one even told him to come back in 10 years when he was worthy...he finally came to a man who agreed to show him. The man calmly sitting under a beautiful tree suddenly kept up and stole his bag. The king was enraged and chased him all through the city shouted angrily about that being all he had left in this life and he really just wanted bliss at the end of his accomplished years. He became so furious as he chased him back up the hill to the same tree until suddenly the thief disappeared. The kind sad in defeat and exhaustion. When suddenly the bag dropped down to him from the tree followed by the thief. ‘Did I succeed in giving you an experience of bliss?’ ‘Hahahah!’ Why yes, you did! The man told the king...I only gave what you had all along.

✨May we always remember that what we seek is always within us. This is often the effect a morning practice has on me...it allows me to remove all the rubble in the way so that I may align with love that is always my truth. It’s a daily practice because it is what’s required as we constant forget we are carrying around the treasure we constantly seek through our various means...day after day.

🧘‍♀️During my meditation today The message replayed itself in that the abundance I seek is always with me. I simply have to remove the fear that blocks me from experiencing it. You are supported. You are needed. You are loved. You are worthy.

Sat Nam🙏
